El Patio Spanish

Spanish in Twelve Tales is a graded reader for learners of Spanish at all levels. Twelve short stories - with English translations and exercises - have been devised to give reading comprehension practice to learners, through an enjoyable exploration of diverse topics. Themes include the environment, recent and past history, feminism, and human rights.

The stories vary in their subject matter as they do in their language-learning content; each one is composed around certain aspects of grammar, vocabulary, and language that are fitting for each level. Following each story, such items are listed or explained - or occasionally presented as exercises for practice.

The book has two stories for each level of the CEFR (Common European Framework of Reference): A1, A2, B1, B2, C1, and C2. It may be utilised simply as a reader or could perhaps be employed to generate conversation in a language class or group learning setting.

Each of these stories has an English translation except the last one, that of the C2 level.
