Why is language important?
That was the question Daniela was asked to respond to in picture book form as part of her Master of Modern Language Education at The University of Melbourne. The result was a gorgeous digital collage book, which she then animated as a short film.
We think the result is stunning, and so did the judges of the Graduate Student Association, awarding Daniela first prize in the 'Best Documentary' category. ¡Muchas felicidades, Daniela!

How did Daniela's project come together? In this video, Daniela takes us behind the scenes of HOMESICK. She shares her ideas and decisions, explains how she combined language, storytelling and visual art, and tells us more about what it means to live between cultures, and have a new conception of the word home.
