This selection is dedicated to the Spanish singer, poet and songrwriter, Gata Cattana, who died recently at the young age of 26. She was a rapper, an artist, a feminist poet, with a degree in political science. Her words are often mixed with an electronic flamenco rhythm.
The theme of Ana’s playlist is women singers presenting a variety of styles: Gata Cattana’s slow flamenco rap, the politically incorrect electronic trap reggaetón of Mueveloreina, Amparanoia’s Spanish pop, Chilean poet Pablo Neruda's words set to reggae by Julieta Venegas, Venezuelan rap by Gabylonia, the Andean rap vibes of Chilean Ana Tijoux, Guatemalan cumbia (Rebeca Lane) and the lovely Cuando volverás by French-Algerian R&B singer, Soha.
